Description:   Small, elongated species much like its larger pike cousins, but dwarf. Maximum length ~3-4". Soft, mainly acidic water, <7.2 pH. A rheophilic species, so water movement might be necessary for spawning.

Just kept a single specimen. It wasn't fussy about food. My water was not ideal for this fish and lost it after about a year. I understand that this species can easily develop a bit of a bloated belly if not kept in the right conditions. Not the classic "bloat," just a bit of an extended belly.
